A stop along the way - who are you?

In a distant country there once was a time of great poverty, where only a few rich people could live without problems. The caravans of three of those rich people met during their trip, and together they reached a village where poverty was extreme. Such was their situation that it provoked different reactions to each of them, and all of them were very intense.

The first rich man could not bear to see that, so he took all the gold and jewels that he carried in his carts, which were many, and distributed them among the people of the field. To all of them he wished the best of luck, and he left.

The second rich man, seeing his desperate situation, stopped with all his servants, and keeping just enough to reach his destination, he gave those men all his food and drinks, since he saw that money would be of little use to them. He made sure that everyone got his share and had food for a certain time, and he said goodbye to them.

The third, seeing that poverty, accelerated and passed by, without even stopping. The other rich people, as they walked together on the road, commented on his lack of decency and solidarity. Luckily they had been there to help those poor...

But three days later, they came across the third rich man again, who was now travelling in the opposite direction. He was still walking fast, but his carts had exchanged the gold and goods for farm implements, tools, and sacks of various seeds and grain, and he was on his way to help the village fight poverty.

And that, which happened so long ago, we continue to see today. There are generous people, although they give only to show how much they give, and they do not want to know anything about who receives it. Others, also generous, try to really help those around them, but only to feel better for having done well.

And there are others, the best, who do not care much what the rest of the generous think, nor do they give in an ostentatious way, but they really care about improving the lives of those in need of help, and they give a lot of something that is worth a million. More than money: their time, their illusion and their lives.

We still have time to change the good side!
